Glenbeigh Glencar GAA Full Marathon/Half Marathon/10k/5k Run is back by popular demand – sign up to experience one of the most scenic runs in Ireland
Tell me whats the event for?
The event is a fundraiser to support the Glenbeigh Glencar GAA Club & Star of the Laune AC to allow them improve & develop their facilities for members.
The course is exciting and challenging, and boasts some of the most spectacular scenery in Ireland. Make Glenbeigh your destination weekend in July! Our Marathon is part of the newly launched Glenbeigh Summer Festival with great activities planned for all. Check out the festival website for more information.

The Marathon commences in Glencar and loops around the mountains of Glenbeigh with the finish line located at Glenbeigh Glencar GAA pitch.
The Half Marathon/10km/5km is equally as challenging and enjoyable. 10k and 5km are open to walkers too its a fully inclusive event!

Is the Marathon course officially measured?
Yes our Marathon & Half Marathon course has been officially measured in line with Athletics Ireland requirements.
Is there a shuttle bus for the Marathon start?
A shuttle bus will be provided from Glenbeigh GAA (V93 CD50) field (the finish line) so Marathon runners can park here and will be transported to the start line at Climbers Inn Glencar. Bus departs Glenbeigh GAA pitch at approx 07:30AM. Booking instructions in the race day logistics email sent to all runners.
Is there a time limit on the full Marathon?
6 hour time limit on full marathon - 7.30am early start for those who require additional time but you will need to make your own way to start line (i.e. shuttle service is only for the official Marathon start) and communicate to us you require an early start.
Is there a shuttle bus for the 10km race?
A shuttle bus service will operate for the 10km race also from Glenbeigh GAA pitch to the 10k start line. No booking required - bus will run every 20 minutes or so 1 hour in advance of race start.
Are there prizes?
Cash prizes for 1st/2nd/3rd in the Full Marathon & Half Marathon for Male & Female categories!
Each participant receives a medal with t-shirt an optional purchase.

On the day registration permitted subject to availability.
Whats happening at the finish line?
Refreshments/food/music/kids activities - bring your family and friends to celebrate with you at the finish line!
