Nothing Returns, Everything Rearranges at Lumen Street Theatre

Step inside the ancient mill as twilight deepens and the building comes alive with light, rhythm, and movement. Within its time-worn walls, a vibrant night of dance choreography unfolds overhead: dancers suspended from the ceiling glide, spiral, and sweep through the air in an awe-inspiring display of strength, grace, and trust. Their bodies trace luminous pathways before the audience, transforming the mill’s historic architecture into a living stage where gravity, balance, and imagination meet.

This fusion of contemporary dance and aerial harness work uses a counterweight system, with two dancers attached to the same rope. As they move through space, they spiral and orbit around one another, creating a shared choreography shaped by gravity, balance, and mutual dependence. This exciting Duet performance by Irena Wiktor and Cullen Krishna features choreography developed by Irena Wiktor.

As part of the evening, visitors will also enjoy a tour of Lumen Street Theatre, along with an introduction to street theatre and performance from Lumen staff. This behind-the-scenes insight will explore the creative world of outdoor arts, performance-making, and the unique role street theatre plays in engaging audiences and transforming public spaces.
