This Darkness Into Light Hannahstown walk is in aid of Suicide Awarness and Support Group who are a local charity that delivers bereavement support to those bereaved by suicide and organise a bridging support structure for those recently bereaved. They also provide intervention services for those at risk of suicide.

We endeavour to raise the issue of suicide prevention to ultimately help reduce the suicide rate.

The charity retains all funds raised, with a small fee paid to Pieta Ireland for the use of the Darkness Into Light brand.

Our Crisis/Family Support Worker provided immediate, tailored support to individuals at risk, with high‑risk individuals were seen the same day, fully assessed, and given a personalised safety plan with follow‑on support.

The service also offered vital emotional and practical assistance to families bereaved by suicide, advocating on their behalf with external agencies giving people the time and space they need to process their grief, build resilience, and support their long‑term wellbeing.
