Liffey Odyssey 2022

The Liffey Odyssey 2022 is a paddling trip on the river Liffey starting at Island Bridge and continuing through the heart of Dublin and finishing at the entrance of Dublin Port . It is primarily intended to be a fun day out for club paddlers whilst raising much needed funds for LauraLynn.  Open Canoes are the preferred craft however other craft that use a paddle such as Kayaks, Sit-on-Tops, Stand –Up- Paddle Boards , Dragon Boats and Rafts can be used.  Fancy Dress is highly encouraged .  Theme for this year is Space

The event is an approved Canoeing Ireland event and is generously supported by Dublin Port Company and I-Canoe . 
To take part participants must : 

• Be able to swim
• Be currently registered members of Canoeing Ireland on the day (this is an insurance requirement) 
• Be at minimum Canoeing Ireland Level 1 Skills standard  Here  
• For SUP paddlers be at SUP Flatwater Skills standard      Here        or equivalent - check with organisers 
• Provide their own craft and required safety gear such as an approved PFD, canoe helmet, suitable footwear and clothing
• Need to be in relatively good physical and medical condition in order to participate in this event

For participants under 18 years 

• Minimum age to participate is 12 years of age . 
• All children under 16 years must be accompanied on the water by a competent parent or adult guardian
• All children under 18 years must have signed parental/guardian consent to take part in the event
