Event Description:

Banbridge CC are delighted to host the 2024 Ulster Youth Road Championships. The event, promoted on Saturday 14th September, will be an ‘open’ championships event meaning that youth riders from outside of Ulster are also welcome and encouraged to participate.

Catering for Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 boys and girls, there will be a choice of the Time Trial (TT) promoted in the morning followed by Road Races in the afternoon. The TT will be the same course and distance for all categories, starting from the Event HQ in Annaclone for a straight run in to the outskirts of Banbridge town over a total distance of 8km. The course profile can be viewed here. The first rider will start at 10:01.

The Road Races will start from 12:30. U14 & U16 riders will be the first to depart the Event HQ, collectively riding in a neutralised fashion to the start/finish line on the traditional Annaclone GP circuit.

Under 12 riders will depart the Event HQ at 12:40, riding neutralised for approx. 1.5km until the starters flagged is dropped for a rolling start. They will race for 7km, finishing at the well-known Hawthorn Inn finish line. The profile of the course can be viewed here.

Under 16 riders will start their race at the Hawthorn Inn at approx. 13:15. They will complete 4 laps of the Annaclone GP circuit for a total distance of 50km.

Under 14 riders will be set off shortly after the U16’s at approx. 13:25. They will complete 2 laps of the same circuit, covering 25km.

All road races will use the same finishing line.

All riders have the choice to compete in either the TT, the road race, or both. A single entry will cover both the TT and RR for each rider.

All podium presentations will be conducted at the event HQ, Annacloine GAA, following the conclusion of all races.
