WESTPORTIF 2023

The Westportif Cycling Challenge takes place on Saturday 8th July in Westport, Co. Mayo. We have gone back to our roots and put our event on in July, the best time of year to enjoy the West coast of Ireland. Participants can choose from two route distances, 80km or 150km. The 80k route is what we call the Ring of the Reek, a full lap around Croagh Patrick with breathtaking scenery of the Wild Atlantic Way, Mweelrea (Connacht's highest mountain), Doolough Lakes, Delphi, Killary Fjord, Ashleigh Falls, and Louisburgh. The 150k loop is shaped like the figure 8 meaning you get two chances to pass through Westport. The first loop is the same as the 80k route but the second section passes through the Historical town of Newport, the Furnace lakes and stunning views of the Nephin mountain range. Nephin mountain takes centre stage for the middle third of the route. Once you turn for home, Croagh Patrick and Clare Island fill the horizon.
