The annual Kilkee Bay Swim competing for the Richard Harris Perpetual Trophy.
The Big Bay
Taking place on Saturday 8th August, with registration online only. The Big Bay swim will set off at 1pm beginning at Byrnes Cove in favourable conditions finishing at the Diving boards at Newfoundout crossing approximately 1350m of Moore Bay, Kilkee. In the event that conditions at Bynes Cove are unfavourable an alternative route may be taken beginning from the pier, finishing at the diving boards at Newfoundout.
Check-in on the day from 11.00am to 12.30pm.
This is a non-handicapped swim with the main category prizes being awarded for skins (non-wetsuit) swimmers. There will also be an open and female prize for the fastest wetsuit swimmers.
Participants must be a minimum of 15 years on the day of the swim.
The Small Bay:
The Small Bay will take place on Friday 7th at 2pm from Sandycove to the Pier with entry registration taking place on the day from 11am to 1pm at the East End Carpark (beside the pier). Entry €5 cash

The proceeds of the Kilkee Bay Swim go directly back into the local community, supporting the upkeep and maintenance of amenities such as the Kilkee playground. Your entry is a donation to a worthy local cause. All persons involved in organising this event are giving their time entirely voluntarily. However outside of this there are significant expenses incurred to run this event. Our number one priority is the safety of the participants and volunteers so we cannot guarantee the event will go ahead on the preferred date and backup dates have been selected for the 9th and 22nd August.
