Event Description:

There are a number of Active Community Walking Programmes kicking off across Cork communities during May. The Get Ireland Walking Active Community Walking Programme runs for 8 weeks and aims to support the creation of vibrant walking communities throughout Ireland.

The programme facilitator will work with communities to increase the capacity and potential of people to become more active through walking. The programme places an emphasis on sustainability so members are given the skills to continue coordinating their walking group after our qualified facilitator steps away after 8 weeks!

The group walks will hopefully take place on the same day and time each week for the 8 weeks, but this is subject to discussion with your walking facilitator. The exact meeting locations will be sent to you in an introductory email before the start of the programme.

There are 8 programmes kicking off this May which will run for 8 weeks:

    • Gurranabraher, Cork city
    • Hollyhill, Cork city
    • Togher, Cork city
    • Dunmanway, west Cork
    • Millstreet, north Cork
    • Ballinlough, Cork city
    • Skibbereen, west Cork
