Ride The GRAVEL Classic 2025

80K Mixed Surface Adventure Cycle on gravel, bogs, farm tracks, grass, manor estates and bohreens in East Galway. With 60% completely off-road, 30% on boreens, and the remainder on tarred roads, this is sure to test your sense of adventure! Suitable for off road gravel bikes and mountain bikes only - NOT suitable for road bikes with standard road tyres. The bigger your tyres the better!

Formally 'Ride The Classic', which was predominantly a road event with off-road sectors, Ride The GRAVEL Classic is a full-on self-guided off-road adventure. Strava and .GPX files available on our website. It is the riders responsibility to ensure they follow the correct route. NB. There are a few short 'hike-a-bike' sections.

This not-for-profit event, ran by Galway Bay CC, costs just €20 to enter for it's first year. There will be a light refreshments at halfway point, with hot food and snacks at the finish!
