Event Description:

Laura Mahony works as a Performance Nutritionist at the Sport Ireland Institute, where she provides support to Ireland’s elite athletes. She supported a very successful Team Ireland at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Laura’s experience spans a wide range of sports — including athletics, swimming, rowing, and boxing — giving her an insight into the nutritional demands of training for endurance sports.

In this seminar, Laura will share practical, evidence-based strategies to help you fuel smarter, recover faster, and perform at your best.

You’ll learn:

  • How to fuel before, during, and after training and events

  • Recovery strategies to optimise adaptation and reduce injury risk

  • The role of carbohydrates, protein, and fats in a runner’s diet

  • How to avoid common mistakes such as under-fuelling and RED-S

  • Smart approaches to supplements and hydration
