Cork Walking Month is an opportunity to celebrate walking by getting involved with a local group or club or participate in an event or programme

Event Description:

There are a number of events and workshops taking place across Cork Walking Month to get involved in including:

  • Walk Your Way Workshops: The aim of this workshop is to encourage you to walk more and more often and also enable you to get more health benefits from your walk. This is done through focusing on improving balance, strength, mobility & aerobic fitness and how these can be incorporated into your routine walk. 
    • Ballincollig & Carrigtwohill
  • Pole Walking Workshop: Frank Fahey from FitWalk Ireland will host this ever popular workshop which is particularly focused at people with balance concerns or mobility issues. It is suitable for all, including people with; arthritis, an acquired brain injury, or people with Parkinson’s disease. The workshop will focus on the use of both Activator and Nordic poles in supporting you to walk more effectively and more often.
    • Nemo Rangers/Trabeg Sports Centre- South Douglas Road, Cork.
  • Rebel Rambles: The Rebel Ramble series will allow participants the chance to experience a days hiking with a Hillwalking Club/Group. They will take place around Cork city and county are particularly geared towards those with moderate fitness levels, looking to experience the hills and trails.

    • Musheramore, Millstreet, North Cork
    • Coastal Walk- Courtmacsherry
