Event Description:

The Great East Clare Hill Challenge will take place on Saturday 8th July. This is a strenuous 30KM hike across the hills of East Clare while enjoying the views from the highest point in Clare, Moylussa (elevation 532M) and continuing to hike onwards to the 12 O’Clock Hills.

The 30KM Hill hike will take approximately 8hrs to complete. It starts at 8am on Saturday 8th July 2023. The start point is Two Mile Gate in Killaloe (which has toilet facilities).  We then hike up Moylussa and across the Slieve Bearnagh via the Enchanted Lake, descending into Broadford village where there will be a break for refreshments. We then take a route out of Broadford village up Hurdlestown and across hills and bogland terrain. This brings us to the final element of our hike which is a climb of the 12 O’Clock Hills and finishing at the Belvoir carpark.

The 2023 Great East Clare Hill Challenge is dedicated to our friend and 12 O'Clock Hills Project Committee member Síle Corish.  Proceeds raised will go to Breakthrough Cancer Research.
