Gearing Up Youth


Online Training Programme (9-12yrs)

Event Description:

Cycling Ireland Youth Commission is excited to offer a youth programme for girls and boys aged 9-12yrs. The programme has been designed by Cycling Ireland Coach, Jamie Blanchfield of Premier Endurance.

As well as a weekly live Zoom session (please see details below) led by Jamie you will be given a 6-week training plan. The Zoom sessions will be recorded, and a link sent out the following day so you can catch up, if a live session is missed.

When: Thursday 11th March – Thursday 15th April

Time: 6pm – 6.50pm

Where: via Zoom (you will receive the link on the day of each session)

Who is this suitable for? This programme is designed to give you an introduction to cycling from all aspects including, specific sessions, skills and knowledge that will help you become a better bike rider! Enjoyment and learning is the focal point of this programme!


There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout the online Zoom sessions, and if you have any questions in between the online information sessions please do not hesitate to get in touch by emailing programmes@cyclingireland.ie as we are here to support you on your cycling journey. 

What do I need?

You will need a set of rollers or a turbo trainer. You do not need a smart trainner to take part. You will also need a laptop, tablet or phone that you can access the online platform.

A Parent / Guardian18+ must register each participant.

Safety - Children must be supervised at all times during the programme and it is the responsibility of the registering adult. Please ensure that the area that you are using to complete Bike Like Me Girls Online Sessions is safe and hazard free.
