EPIC MTB Club League 2022

The Epic League for 2022 will comprise 16 rounds. A rider's fastest 14 rounds count.  The weekly race will run every Thur until Aug 18th.

The League will be held on the 2022 Epic Club Course at Leadmines. Each round will consist of 3 laps. As always this is a handicap event, with riders starting between 6:30 and 7:10 - and hopefully all finishing together. Handicaps will be allocated based on your times from the league in recent years, other CI events, or how nice you have been to the robot. 

The forest is busier than ever with other users and there are plenty of people using the roads and trails. Give them plenty of notice, be polite, and let the timers know if there have been any issues.

Make sure you have your CI licence (Competition or Limited Competition) paid up - this is a requirement of participation. CI and club membership can be easily renewed online at https://membership.cyclingireland.ie/useraccount-check.html

Online registration on the Cycling Ireland site is required before your first race.  You only need to register once for all 12 rounds.  Please register no later than the Sunday before your first race. This gives the club time to allocate race numbers, enter names into the computer,, allocate handicaps, and update the the start list.

There is a small charge of €10 to enter the league. This is a contribution to the costs of running the event - insurance, permit, number plates, signage, timing system, prizes, etc. This fee is covered by the club for Epic members and Junior/Youth license holders. At less than €1 per race we hope this won't put anyone off.

Overall Prizes (depending on numbers):
- Epic Members: Top five men, women, and U18 - men / women.
- Non-Epic: Top three men, women, and U18 - men / women.
- E-bikes: These will be in a separate category.
