Event Description:

Workshop Monday 16th January at 7pm on Zoom

Amy, a Canoeing Ireland Bridge the Gap Ambassador and Kayak Instructor, is a Chartered Physiotherapist, a Pilates Instructor and teacher specialising in injuries and special population living in West Cork.

With over 20 years of professional experience, Amy has put together for Canoeing Ireland members an introduction workshop focusing on the basic anatomy of the shoulder joint and injury prevention.

Throughout the 45 minutes you will go through a series of simple exercises and a waterside workout to keep your paddling shoulders strong and functional.

This workshop is open to all. There will be variations of difficulty offered for the different exercises enabling you to choose the level of self-challenge.

At the end of the workout, Amy will be available to answer questions and/or clarify any of the exercises.

What you'll need:

  • A mat
  • A paddle (or broomstick/brsuh)
  • A theraband (if you don't have one scarf or leggings can be used as a substitute)
  • A ball
  • Enough space around the mat for movement

Note: The workout will be in a Webinar format on Zoom so you won't need to have your cameras on. The questions at the end will be done through the chat function.

You are self-assessing your ability to particpate in this online workshop. If you feel pain or high level of discomfort at any time during the exercises please cease the activity.

Any questions in relation to the workshop please contact Hannah hannah@canoe.ie. If you cannot afford the participation fee for this workshop we have "no questions asked" tickets available. Please contact Hannah if you need on.
