GymSTART Teacher Training

This is a 3.5-4hour practical workshop based around the primary PE curriculum (Gymnastics). The workshops touches on all aspects of fundamental gymnastics including; jumping & landing, rolling, balancing, partner work, hand apparatus work, gymnastics-based warmup and cooldowns, as well as discussing key topics with teachers such as the barriers to teaching gymnastics, safety and use of equipment.

 The workshop would take place shortly after a school day finishes (allowing teachers time to travel). We will aim to run this workshop in a central school/venue to all schools attending, or in one school if you wish to have all teachers attend (depending on numbers).

This workshop needs to be run in a school hall with mats, and if possible, benches and some small equipment, (hoops, bean bags, soft balls, floor markers etc, all which will be used), MSP may be able to provide some equipment if school needed or tutor can bring additional equipment if required.

The course will only be possible to deliver to a MAXIMUM of 25 participants.

This initiative will be highly subsidized by Monaghan Sports partnership and will be offered to schools at a greatly reduced cost of €10 per person.
