Athgarvan GAA & LGFA Fun Run 2026

We’re delighted to once again host the Athgarvan GAA & LGFA Community Fun Run for 2026.

Set on the scenic rolling plains of the Curragh, this friendly community event welcomes everyone whether you plan to run, jog, or walk. With chipped 5K and 10K races and a brand new Kids 1K Dash on grass, there’s something for all ages and abilities to enjoy.

This year we are excited to introduce our Kids 1K Dash for children aged 7-12 years, taking place on a safe grass course on the Curragh. Every child will receive a medal and goodie bag, making it a fun and memorable experience for young runners.

Prizes will be awarded to the first male and female finishers in both the 5K and 10K races, along with prizes for the first male and female U18 finishers in the 5K. All participants will receive a custom medal, with refreshments served in the hall afterwards.

Custom commemorative race t-shirts will also be available as an optional additional purchase during race entry registration.

Water stations will be available along the race routes.

We look forward to welcoming runners, walkers, families, and supporters this June for what promises to be another fantastic day for the community.
