Event Description:
This race is a must-do for all runners! The race is set over a challenging but enjoyable 10-mile route, so you will enjoy running in some of Kilkenny’s most beautiful scenery. The route winds across gentle valleys and up country roads before emerging at the crest of Stook Hill. From here you will have stunning views down to the finish, you’ll get to experience Ireland’s fastest timed downhill mile – The Stook Flying Mile. With timing mats at either end, everyone receives a personal split for that single mile. Will you be the first to break 4 minutes? After the Stook flying mile there is more downhill, followed by about 200m of a pull and then a quick downhill finish.
Obviously, the race is now famous for our unique finisher’s cowbell, which pays homage to the race’s fabulous setting. Collections of these sought-after ornaments are now building all over the country! What colour will it be this year?

Always a great atmosphere with refreshments provided after. 10 mile finishers will receive a cow bell also.
