Mount Leinster Challenge 100K Cycle
On Sunday 11th May, Slaney Cycling Club will host the 100k Mount Leinster Challenge in memory of our good friend Mylie Kavanagh. The 100k leaves Kiltealy out towards Borris along rolling roads, taking in the beautiful scenic views to Graiguenamanagh, back towards Borris, Bagnalstown, Myshall and Bunclody where the accent of Mount Leinster will begin. You’ll be rewarded with a nice descent as you return to Kiltealy where lots of nice refreshment await you. Food stop on route and finish. Tea/Coffee available before start. Fully marshalled route and sign posted. Sign on from 8.00am until 9.15am Start at 9.30am Goodie bag for all participants. https://www.facebook.com/sccirl The event is open to participants holding a licence issued by Cycling Ireland. A one day licence can be purchased for non members.
A cut off time of 1.00pm will apply meaning all riders must reach Bunclody by 1.00pm to proceed over Mount Leinster. After that time there will be no marshalls or ambulance cover on the route back to Kiltealy. Cyclist will be asked to go a shorter flatter route back to Kiltealy after the 1.00pm cut off.
