Canoeing Ireland Instructor Symposium


As part of a broad initiative to enable members to connect, collaborate and communicate, the TDU/CI are facilitating an Instructor symposium

3rd- 5th March 2023

Gartan Outdoor Education Centre Donegal

Come together with other CI Instructors for a collaborative weekend in Donegal where you will have the opportunity to challenge your practice, exchange/learn from peers and explore in depth with industry-leading experts the core fundamentals of paddlesports through the theme "Better Basics".

Along with a multitude of opportunities to exchange, network and listen to intriguing presentations; there will be 4 main workshops over the 2 days with a mix of dryland and water based delivery:

  • Teaching Rolling with Shane McElligot
  • Boat Handling Skills with Dave McClure
  • Active Posture and Forward Stroke with Hannah Craig
  • Mental Skills and Strategies for Managing Fear with (Catherine Mahon)

 

The event welcomes all levels of instructors and all water environments/disciplines.

Note: Please book early to avoid disappointment. Only 60 spaces on offer.

Two ticket types are available one with accommodation (2 nights) and one without accommodation.

Both Ticket Types are inclusive of all meals (Breakfast/Packed Lunch Dinner on Saturday and Breakfast/Packed Lunch on Sunday) and Workshops.
