In 2023 Foyle Cycling Club Celebrates its 20th Anniversary and to mark the occasion we have updated our flagship event the Inishowen 100/60 to provide an improved participant experience.
This challenging route is one of Ireland’s most scenic and has won awards from Cycling Ireland in past years as Ireland’s best sportive event. Sections of this route take in part of the Wild Atlantic way. This route will be a test for all levels of cyclists, but a shorter option is possible via the i60 for those not wishing to tackle the full distance. Highlights include the Gap of Mamore, Malin Head and Kinnego Bay with spectacular views at Fahan, Five Finger Strand and Greencastle.
For those that have followed the Everesting trend over the past few years this is an opportunity to ride the climb on which the current World Record currently stands on Mamore Gap by our very own Ronan McLaughlin.
The Start and Finish this year has moved to the centre of Derry and we are delighted to show off the city to visitors for the day. Close to the finish and as you return through Derry you will then be guided to the local greenway and bike path facilities.
In partnership with Ebrington Square we will be utilizing this iconic venue for riders to start and as a finish event area.
Rider sign on will be located in the Main Parade Square. Please go to the Foyle Cycling Club Marquee to collect your sign on registration pack.
Event Start will be 8am for both events with registration open from 7am.
As you finish you will ride over the iconic peace bridge and be welcomed by a BBQ and Beer (or soft drink….Included as part of your entry fee) supplied by The Embankment Bar along with music.
Foyle Arena will be open to the participants of the event as an area for showering after the event. Please make them aware of your participation as you enter reception.
Parking can be utilised at Ebrington Square, Foyle Road Derry (Both sides of the Craigavon Bridge), Victoria Market Derry.
We are grateful to partner with the local communities in Donegal and have a spectacularly stocked lunch stop at Malin Head. This includes a range of sandwiches, soup, cake, fruit, tea coffee as well as the ability to stock up on energy drinks, bars and bananas.
In Greencastle with approximately 25 miles to home there is another well stocked rest stop with Bars, Gels and energy drinks. (The pub across the street has been know to offer a few riders some nutrition on the final push for home)
