Moanbaun Sports Development Project

Moanbaun Sports Development Project has delivered a unique, state of the art, sports and community facility located in the heart of East Galway. This consists of a flood-lit, full size 4G astroturf soccer pitch, surrounded by 8-lane athletics track set in a newly developed, accessible, sustainable, and environmentally friendly park.

This is a joint venture between Athenry Football Club and Athenry Athletics Clubs. The facility serves our own members, in excess of 1,100 between both clubs, and is also in big demand from outside football & athletics clubs who are looking for accessible, quality surfaces to train and compete on. Our project is not yet finished , with a further spend of €500,000 planned to finish it off including long jump and high jump areas, shot put, steeplechase jump, training area, fencing and other ancillaries.

All proceeds go towards our Moanbaun Development project. For further details see our website - www.moanbaun.com
