Workshop 1 Sherry Tay

Sherry is currently the Dance Captain and Swing of The Lion King UK &Ireland Tour. She danced with T.H.E Dance Company in Singapore and freelanced with other companies including Raw Moves, John Mead Dance Company, Dance Nucleus, ECNAD, Maya Dance Theatre and Connecticut Ballet.

Sherry was also Dance Captain in The Lion King Netherlands. She has taught company classes for T.H.E and The Lion King, and was a ballet instructor at Lasalle College of the Arts. Sherry is also a Stotts Pilates instructor.

The Lion King Workshop usually starts with a comprehensive version of the warm up that she typically gives the cast members which includes various dance techniques and body conditioning exercises which are useful for performing the show. She then teaches the choreography from the show such as Lioness Hunt ( Ladies), Kick Butt (Men) and if there is time He Lives in You. Details, nuances and performance quality will be emphasises so that students will not just know the steps but also get a taste of performing the number.
