Join us for a scenic gravel leisure sportive taking place in and around Broadford village in East Clare. The route follows forestry roads along a 20km loop, with options for 60–70km total distances. The terrain is moderate and suitable for all abilities, making it a great event for both beginners and experienced riders.

The Rivet Ride
In aid of Ballycar school & promoting gravel riding in County Clare

The wheel, man’s greatest invention if you are to believe the history books and in Clare along the east Clare way, we have found some of Gods great natural spaces combing both we have created The Rivet Ride.

The area around Broadford Co. Clare is filled with amazing beauty, bountiful hills for walking and touring with a brilliant example being The 12 O clock hills project.

The Rivet Ride starts in the quiet village, famous with local cycling groups for great coffee and even greater cakes ;)

There is two options to wet your appetite and earn those cakes.

67km with 1300m elevation, 85km with 1600+m elevation
Suitable for all levels but those who don’t love the climbing we advise to stick with the 67km route.

Yes Mountain Bikes are also welcome and at times you may be happiest with those extra gears.

Road bikes are not suitable!

Sign on will take place at The Country Store & Café Broadford - V94 V6V3.

With the support of Cycling Ireland & Coilte we will ride from sign on with Aprox 3km before hitting the trail via a lively lovely hill called violet hill, which according to some locals is miss spelt leaving out an N.

Once up this climb you and now into Clare’s hidden secret and one of natures best arenas.

4 loops for the 85km and 3 for the 67km route.

As you pedal along keep an eye out for wild deer and soaring birds of prey along with majestic views over Lough Derg before descending back into Broadford for a big feed of local cheer and cakes.
