Knocknacurra 7 Mile Road Race hosted by Kilmacsimon Swimming & Rowing Club
The Knocknacurra 7 Mile Road Race makes a welcome return to the Cork race calendar in 2025.
The race is hosted by Kilmacsimon Swimming & Rowing Club in association with Belgooly AC and is run in memory of 3 local and international athletes from the area:
Patsy O’Flynn, Silver Olympic Medallist, Antwerp 1920
Bob Hales, National & Internation Champion 1911 - 1912
Bill Nolan, Ireland v Scotland International Mile Champion 1931
The event is run under an Athletics Ireland permit/licence, chip timed and the course was measured by John Quigley AIMS / World Athletics Grade A measurer.
A perpetual memorial cup will be presented to the first person home along with many prizes in different age categories.
The start/finish line is next to Kilmacsimon Swimming & Rowing Club where refreshments will be served after the race.
