Event Description:

The Rathfarnham 5k 2023 will include the second running of the Dublin Championships 5k Road Race 2023. This is restricted to runners from Dublin Clubs. In the open 5k the minimum age to run is 15.

Dublin Championship medals will be up for grabs for the first three (Ladies and men) home from Dublin Clubs, along with the first three in the Age Categories Over 35 to Over 65. Three team medals can also be won by Dublin Clubs in the race – Overall Dublin Championships team race with 4 to score for men and women, Over 35 – 4 to score for men and women, and Over 50 – 4 to score for men and 3 for women.

In addition, Individual and Team prizes will be awarded in the overall race which is open to all finishers. The customary Rathfarnham 5k tee shirt will also be given to the first 1,000 who pick up their number at registration.

Numbers and t shirts can be collected at Rathfarnham WSAF AC Clubhouse, Main Street, Rathfarnham on Friday 22nd (19.00 - 21.00), on Saturday 23rd (12.00 - 16.00) or on Sunday 24th in Terenure College Gym (8.00 - 9.30)

The Juvenile Race distances are Under 14 - 1,000m, Under 12 - 800m and Under 10 - 600m. Children must be 8 and over to be eligible to run. Juveniles must check in at the Race Finish Green tent on Dodder View road from 8.30.

The minimum age for running in the Rathfarnham 5k is 15 years.

Juvenile athletes are only entering for their own age category race and not the Rathfarnham 5k. Parents and responsible adults must not allow their children run in the 5k with a Juvenile entry or transfer their number to a child to allow them run. This is to ensure we have a correct list of registered competitors for emergency response and results calculation purposes. In addition children seen on the startline will be taken out of the race by our Stewards.
