This cycle takes place on the 13th of May 2023
The Wicklow Mountains Cycle Challenge is an annual event organised by St James’s Hospital Foundation. Proceeds raised from this event will be used to purchase equipment for Lung Cancer Research which will help us isolate and study circulating tumour cells (CTCs) from the blood of patients with lung cancer. This will help us progress our research and discoveries in the clinical setting for the benefit of our patients.
Since 2016, the event has raised over €100,000 in much needed hospital funding.
The event starts and finishes on the stunning grounds of Russborough House and there are 2 routes to choose from.
50km – Brings cyclists on a beautiful looped tour of Blessington Lakes before returning back to Russborough House.
100km – Described as “The toughest 100km in Wicklow”, this is a much more demanding route taking cyclists up some of the most notorious climbs in the Wicklow mountains including, Sally Gap, Shay Elliott & Slieve Maan.
