Stacks Mountain Half Marathon + 10km 2025

The Stack’s Mountain Half Marathon and 10K Race on 26th April 2025 unfolds against the backdrop of Kilflynn's beautiful landscape in Co Kerry. The half marathon is on a demanding mixed terrain looped course that rewards participants with breathtaking views of the picturesque surroundings. Runners navigate through scenic rural country roads and mountain paths that wind through the heart of nature, offering glimpses of the stunning Tralee Bay below. 

The 10K route is a looped scenic route on rural country roads in Kilflynn. While challenging hills are interspersed along the route, the scenic views and beautiful countryside are enough to motivate each climb.

This event is organised by Kilflynn City Running & Walking Group. 

Participants must be 18 years or older to compete in the half marathon and 15 years or older to compete in the 10k race/walk. 

Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. 

Event Details:

• Every finisher will receive a special commemorative medal & t-shirt to honour their achievement.
• There are trophies for first, second and third place males & females for the half marathon & 10km race.
• Chip timing will be provided by JustRace for the half marathon & 10k.

What You Need to Know:

• The half marathon starts at 10am. The 10K walkers start at 10.30am & the 10K runners start at 11am.  
• Walkers are welcome to participate in the 10K event.
• The starting line & finish line is in Kilflynn Village outside Parker’s Pub & Beer Garden.
• There is ample parking in the village centre, where registration takes place. The eircode is V92 X272. Stewards will be there to direct parking.
• Collect your race pack the evening before the event or on the day of the event at St. Columba’s Community Centre, Kilflynn. The eircode is V92 X272. Race pack collection takes place on Friday 25th April from 7pm to 8.30pm. Race pack collection takes place on the day of the event from 8:30am. There is also a bag drop facility. 
• Water stations will be positioned at regular intervals along the half marathon route. There will be one water station on the 10K route. 
• After race food & refreshments will be available from 12.30pm at Parker’s Pub & Beer Garden.

Beneficiaries:

• All profit generated by the event will be for the benefit of St. Teresa’s National School Kilflynn, Abbeykillix Camogie Club & Crotta O’Neills GAA club.
