National Teen Connect and Sparty - Lough Lannagh 2023

Come join us for a fun filled day in and around Lough Lannagh, Castlebar, Co. Mayo jam packed with loads of activities, laughter and positive vibes.

 

Teen Connect is a Canoeing Ireland initiative; this event is organised by the Teen Connect TY Project Team in partnership with Mayo Sports Partnership, ATU, Lough Lannagh Holiday Village and HerMoves, a Sport Ireland initiative.

This event is open to all teenagers who identify as female aged 11 to 18.

Schedule

12:30: Registration - Meet the team that will host, cheer and support you throughout the day and pick up your goodies!

13:00: Event Brief and Fun Warm-Up - led by Teen Connect Project Team members.

13:30-14:45: Activity 1 - Paddling (SUP, Open Canoe, and more discipline specific boats available)

14:45-15:15: Switch Over (wetsuits can take a while to get on and off)

15:15-16:30: Activity 2 - Yoga

17:00-18:00: "Feed me I'm hungry!!!" - Meal price covered in the ticket

18:00-18:30: Walk to Sparty (Sports Party is in an indoor venue)

18:30-20:00: Skate Squad Sparty – Roller Disco with Skates, Skateboarding and fun tunes

20:00-20:30: Walk back to Lough Lannagh Holiday Village (for those not being picked up at Skate Squad Party)

 

WHAT I NEED TO BRING: 

For On The Water:

If you own it your own bouyancy aid, helmet, paddle, longsleeved wetsuit/drysuit. - Don't worry if you don't own any of these, they can also be provided on the day!

Swimwear to wear under wetsuits and appropriate footwear that holds your foot, won't fall off and you're happy to get wet, like old runners. Don't forget a towel too!

For Off the Water:

Please wear comfortable clothing and active footwear you can easily move in and are happy to use outdoors.

For The Sparty:

Please feel free to wear what you feel comfortable "spartying" in. Don't forget your socks, you will be on roller skates for part of it :-)

Please note this will be a fun day with a lot of time spent being active and at times wet! Please bring nutritional food/drink to get you through the day and clothing to keep you warm between the sessions.

You will have full access to changing facilities and toilets at Lough Lannagh Holiday Villiage.
