Ideal for beginners. 2 hours cycle approx.
65km; Similar to above, but at 45km approx you turn left at a junction after Achill Sound and Cycle on the L1405 onto the Atlantic Drive route where will view Gráinne Uaile Castle, Cliffs at Ashleam and into the Gaeltacht Village of Dooega. Water stop at 50km at Pattens Bar. Some testing climbs on this route. Ideal for a cyclist with some experience. Again you will finish at Teds for Burger and Chips. 3 hours cycle approx.
110km: Same route as 65km. Then continue along the R319 for a distance of 20km and some serious climbing into and out of the award winning Keem Bay, a site not to be missed. After turning in Keem you come back on the R319 to Keel, where you turn left onto the L1406. Continue on the L1406 while viewing the Deserted Village, Slievemore Mountain, The Colony Dugort, Dugort Beech, Golden Strand Beech and the a right turn and cycle back to the R319. Continue left on the R319 for 4km to the finish for your very well deserved Burger and Chips. The 100km is a testing cycle, not for a beginner. Some serious climbs into and out of Keem Bay. 6 hours approx. All main junctions will be marshalled. First Aid and back up vehicles will be on duty. Looking forward to seeing you in Achill on 5th Sept 2026 for Tour de Achill 2026. Thank you.
