Event Description:

Join us for an exhilarating adventure and support some wonderful causes at The 2025 Tom Crean Dingle Peninsula Challenge! Organised by Kieran O Callaghan, Patrick O Sullivan and Daniel Bohan. This incredible fundraiser aims to raise funds for Recovery Haven Kerry, the Kerry Cancer Support Group, Down Syndrome Kerry, Jack and Jill Foundation, SADS Foundation, and other local charities.

On the 26th and 27th of September 2025, we will embark on a 24 hour journey, circumventing the stunning Dingle Peninsula through walking, kayaking, running, cycling, hiking, and swimming. Fortunately, we won’t be doing it alone! This year, we will have a record ten teams on board, including Xintec, Bookshelf, Uniquely, Rise Coaching, Ugly Mug, Gala (Blennerville), Kostal, the Aquadome, and possibly others. We are absolutely delighted that these amazing companies will join us for this extraordinary challenge.

Recovery Haven provides free cancer support services to the people of Kerry. They offer a safe place to access information, emotional support and practical help.

The Kerry Cancer Support Group has been tirelessly providing transportation to cancer patients for their treatment since 2010.

Down Syndrome Kerry, a parent-led organisation, works passionately to enhance the lives of children with Down syndrome.

SADS mission is to save the lives and support the families of children and adults who are genetically predisposed to sudden death due to heart rhythm abnormalities.

The Jack and Jill Foundation provide vital home nursing care and end of life support to children in Kerry and across Ireland. By supporting this event, you will be helping these remarkable charities make a difference in our communities.

Over the past four years, we have raised approximately €235,000 for various charitable causes. We sincerely hope that you will continue to support us on this years adventure. Your contribution, in any way possible, is greatly appreciated, and all the funds raised will go directly to these deserving charities.

The 24-hour challenge will kick off at 9pm on Friday, 29th August. Starting from the Aquadome (Tralee), we will walk the Dingle Way to Inch Beach, covering 30km. From there, we will cycle 33km to Páidi Ó Shea’s pub in Ventry, followed by an 8.5km walk/jog over the mountain to Tig Áine’s restaurant near Cloghers beach. The journey continues with a 22km cycle to the Mt. Brandon Trailhead car park, followed by an 11km hike across the Mt. Brandon (963mt) range, and descent to Faha car park near Cloghán village. The descent also includes a swim in one of the Pater Noster lakes with the faint hope of it being refreshing and bringing us back to life. Back on our bikes, the next leg takes us on a 22km cycle to the Junction Bar at Camp, followed by a 3km beach walk/jog to Derrymore. The penultimate leg is a 5km kayak across to Fenit, with the final 12.5km taking us onto the wonderful greenway, whereupon we complete the final leg with a cycle to the Aquadome.

The challenge will culminate at 9pm on Saturday, 30 th August, after covering an approximate distance of 147km (91mls). We will keep you updated on our progress throughout, and we sincerely thank you for visiting our page and supporting this worthy cause.
