Event Description:
On Sunday 3rd September Banbridge CC will once again promote the popular Thomas White Memorial Time Trial, incorporating the Cycling Ireland Paracycling National Series. We also once again welcome Leckey, and their parent company Sunrise Medical, aboard as the event sponsor.
Leckey, a local Lisburn-based company is a globally recognised pioneer in the research, design and manufacture of solutions to deliver postural care for children with special needs.  Together with their parent company, Sunrise Medical, which has “Team Sunrise” –  the largest and most renowned
athlete ambassadors in the assistive mobility industry, there are already strong links to the para-cycling community. This sponsorship further demonstrates their commitment to improving people’s lives and contribution to the communities.
On announcement of the 2023 event, General Manager of Leckey, Firefly and Sunrise Medical UK
Operations, Erwin McKee, says;
“We are very proud this year to be supporting Banbridge Cycling Club for the second year running at their annual Thomas White Memorial time trial. At Leckey we aim to improve the quality of life of children and young people with additional needs, so supporting an event which promotes inclusion of paracycling is very important to everyone at Leckey.
Leckey as part of the Sunrise Medical group, has been supporting competitive paracycling, with
specially adapted hand bikes on a global scale for several years now; so as we move into the future
we will collectively continue to lead through innovation and clinical focus, developing equipment
that empowers people with additional needs to live life to their fullest potential”.
Event Director, Aaron Wallace, added;
“We’re delighted to have Leckey and Sunrise Medical return to support the event for 2023. Looking
at the fantastic life changing products that Leckey and Sunrise Medical design and produce, It’s hard
to think of a more fitting partnership for the event which has fully embraced the Paracycling
National Series for a number of years now.
The event has attracted world class riders through our inclusion of paracycling and to attract a world
class producer of equipment that facilitates those with additional needs feels like a perfect match.”
