Event Description:

This year’s Ladies Lough Gill Tour take place on Saturday the 11th of June commencing from Sligo Tennis Club at 11am. This ladies only cycling event is now a well-established part of Innisfree Wheelers annual event calendar. The 40km event is specifically designed for women who wish to get back on the bike.

This year once again we also have a 60km distance which should suit more experienced women cyclists. In fact, almost 50% of Innisfree Wheelers one hundred and twenty members are of the fairer sex. The 40k event is suitable for even beginner cyclists as the tour will be conducted at a leisurely pace with no cyclist being dropped and full back up and support being provided along the way.

It starts at Sligo Tennis Club, Old Bundoran Road at 11am. Registration is ONLINE ONLY this year. The entry fee is just €20 this year which includes all food stops and supports. The 40k route travels around Lough Gill anti-clockwise with a nice food stop in Dromahair. A food and drink voucher will be provided to all registered participants at the start.

The women will then enjoy the nice scenery on the home stretch as they peddle past the shores of beautiful Lough Gill and the majestic Parkes Castle. The 60km event will begin with a scenic spin through Strandhill, then on to Ballisodare, Ballygawley, and Ballintogher. They then join the 40km route and go into Dromahair for some refreshments also.

They will take the same path home via beautiful Lough Gill shores and Parkes Castle. Once arriving in Sligo there is just the negotiation of the roundabout at Duck Park and turn right for Sligo Tennis Club. This year our partner charity is The Neurology Support Centre, Molloway Hill, Sligo. We are delighted to be associated with this very worthy local charity. We wish also to acknowledge the help and support provided to the event by Sligo Sports Partnership in association with Women in Sport.
