Ulster MTB Development Day - 1st December
Join us for the Ulster MTB Development Day, designed to cater to a range of ages and skill levels! This event is ideal for young riders looking to build foundational skills as well as more experienced riders aiming to refine advanced techniques in preparation for the 2025 season. These sessions are for U18s and belows.
Selecting your category:
Beginner: This group will focus on essential cycling skills such as cornering, speed control, and gear selection. Training will take place in the car park, pump track, and skills loop, providing a safe and controlled environment to build fundamental skills.
Intermediate: Riders in this group should have solid bike control and a good grasp of fundamental skills outlined in the beginners group. Training will be based on the pump track and skills loop, focusing on techniques for more challenging trails, such as handling small drop-offs, maintaining speed, body position on steep up hills and downhills.
Advanced: This group will focus on refining advanced skills with an emphasis on high-level abilities applicable to enduro, cross-country (XC), and downhill racing. A vareity skills will be worked on such as maintaining speed, line choice, braking timings. Skills required for this group: Bunny Hop on flat pedals, wheelie for 5 seconds, clear table top jumps (similar to those on the steam trail at Davagh)
