Event Description:

In the ninth century, Kells was known as ‘Áinius Érenn’ or ‘The splendour of Ireland’. Kells was a renowned centre of learning and enlightenment thanks to the influence of St Colmcille who founded a monastic settlement there in the sixth century. Spending an hour or more exploring the landmarks of this unique town is a wonderfully inspiring way to reach back over the centuries.

  • Online booking is essential.
  • The tour will begin at 11am sharp and the starting point is at Kells Courthouse Tourism and Cultural Hub (eircode: A82 RY62).
  • Please be there to meet with your guide at 10.50am.
  • Cost per adults: €5 (Children are Free)
  • Tour duration: 1 hour
