This cycle takes place on the 30th of July 2023
All routes start and finish from the Ballina Stephenites GAA grounds where there is ample parking for bikes and cars. A barbecued burger awaits upon your return.
50km route - sign in from 7:30 am - start at 9 am.
Starting in Ballina this route goes towards Crossmolina and on towards Lahardane for a food stop. The cycle continues towards Pontoon where participants turn left back towards Ballina enjoying the lovely views across Lough Conn.
90km route - sign in from 7.30 - depart at 9:00 Starting in Ballina, through Crossmolina, and onto Bellacorrick where cyclists turn left onto the Castlebar road. Cyclists will then turn left around Nephin where they will meet a moderate climb. The cycle continues to Lahardane for the food stop. The cycle will continue towards Pontoon and around Lough Conn back to Ballina.
120km route - sign in from 7.30am and depart at 9:00am Cyslists take the same route as the 90km group until after the food stop in Lahardane where they will take a right at the church and go to Bofeenaun where after they will meet a very challenging climb known as the Windy Gap. This is only suitable for experienced cyclists. Views from here are spectacular. The cycle continues towards Castlebar turning left for Ballina travelling through Pontoon and around Lough Conn, back into Ballina.
This annual cycle has proven to be a very well stewarded event and the food stop alone is worth the entry fee. This event has something for all levels of ability, looking forward to seeing you there. Please note due to Covid there will be online registration only.
