Issues specific to the female cyclist – what you need to know

Killarney Cycling Club is presenting this on-line workshop on issues specific to female cyclists who train.

It will be given by Jasmijn Muller, a UK-based cycle coach with extensive knowledge and experience in this area. She is also a highly-accomplished cyclist including UK and World championship titles.

To mark International Women’s Day, the workshop will take place on March 8th at 8 PM.

This fun, inspiring event is for any woman wanting to gain fresh enthusiasm and insights into how to optimize her training and athletic potential by working with her female physiology.

During the workshop, you will get an opportunity to test your knowledge in a short interactive ‘Facts or Fiction’ quiz about physiological differences between men and women that influence training approaches.

You will also learn how to adapt your training for getting the best out of your body at any point during the menstrual cycle.

The impact that contraception methods may have on your training approach will be outlined.

How to change training and nutrition when (peri)-menopause hits, and beyond, will be explained.

Some ‘bio-hacks’ for working with your female physiology will be given, helping you to thrive at your key events, be that your first sportive, a summer tour with friends or competitive targets you’ve set for the future.

Useful references will be provided, if you want to dig deeper, as well as recommendations for tools to use either for your own training or for working with a coach.

You will also have an opportunity to ask Jasmijn your specific questions and to join the conversation with other women.

The format of the evening will consist of a 60-90 minute presentation by Jasmijn, followed by a Q&A session. All attendees will receive a copy of the presentation slides. The cost of the workshop is €10: tickets can be purchased via EventMaster from the link below and you will then receive an email link for the event.

This will be a woman only event.

Killarney Cycling Club would like to thank Jasmijn for developing and presenting this workshop for us, and we are also grateful to Cycling Munster for supporting the event.
