Dromard Camino Walk will cover approximately 36km and take walkers on a journey around the picturesque Dromard Parish, villages and their environs.
Following our hughly successful Dromard Camino Walking events in 2022 and 2023 the Dromard Camino Committee and the community are excited to announce that we are welcoming visitors to join us once again to our next Camino walk which will take place on Saturday 14th September 2024. This event will continue annually in September.
The route will take walkers on a journey around the picturesque Dromard Parish, villages and their environs and will cover approximately 36km.
Dromard Camino Walk is also offering a shorter 20km walk on the 14th of September 2024 for those who might like to experience a shorter route on the day.
Dromard is a rural area, set in the middle of unspoilt countryside. It is uniquely located in Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands Nestled between rolling drumlins, stunning woodlands and countless lakes and rivers and is where the three counties meet Longford, Cavan and Leitrim
Dromard is a convenient base for tourists as it is within 90 minutes of Dublin Airport in the east and The Wild Atlantic Way to the west. It is also next to Ireland’s Ancient East Region. A perfect base for exploring any part of Ireland!
Dromard is famous for all kinds of outdoor activities such as water sports, boating and is a fisherman’s paradise as well as traditional Irish music and its cultural heritage. It is a place of learning with a Community School, National School, Childcare facility, sports complex, community centre and internet hub. It’s now time to reveal Dromard’ spectacular scenery to those who haven’t visited before.
