The Ireland West Airport Charity Runway Fun Run 2026

Ireland West Airport are delighted to announce, in partnership with Portwest, the 9th annual charity 5k Runway Family Fun Run will take place on the runway at Ireland West Airport at 7:15pm on Saturday, 19th September 2026.

This is a unique opportunity to run or walk on our famous runway. All are welcome to attend, with all proceeds from the event going to our charity partners for 2026 - Cancer Care West, Family Centre Castlebar, Liver Ireland Support Network, Mayo Mental Health Association, Pancreatic Cancer Ireland, and Sunflower Children’s Hospice.

All participants on the day who register by 2pm on Friday, 18th September 2026, will receive a free commemorative runway run t-shirt, which can be collected at the airport on the day of the event or on a pre-arranged date leading up to the event, which will be advised closer to the event time*.

A 'Virtual option' will also be available for those who wish to support the charities but are unable to attend on the day and would like to participate in a virtual run or walk. Note that a charge for postage and packaging will be applicable for those doing the virtual run who wish to receive a t-shirt. Alternatively, t-shirts can be collected at the airport closer to the event time at no extra cost.

Online registration closes at 2pm on Friday, 18th September 2026. Please note that if you do not register online, you may not get a t-shirt on the day, as race t-shirts are limited and subject to availability.
