CUILCAGH CAMINO 2025

Join us on Saturday 9th August 2025  for the inaugural Cuilcagh Camino.

Two routes on offer:

Long approx 27km(min 8 hrs duration) and

Short approx 16km.(min 5 hrs duration)

Please Note:

 Registration takes place in St Marys hall Swanlinbar from 7:00 am(parking available nearby)  with onwards shuttle bus transportation for both routes to the start location provided.Shutle bus will be running from 8:00am -8:30am.

Both routes finish in Swanlinbar i.e. same location for registration,finish line and hot food

Please Note:

The long route will take you to the summit of Cuilcagh mountain(660m elevation gain),while the short route will hug the beautiful llowlands of Cuilcagh.Neither route links into the Stairway to Heaven.

Cuilcagh Ramblers leaders ably assisted by volunteers/stewards will lead and direct all participants.

Both routes will include some tarred byroads,gravel tracks,open boggy hillside/mountain and grassy trails.

Both routes will be on open mountain ground where the weather can change quickly and the ground can be uneven/slippy in places so proper hiking boots,rain gear and water are compulsory.Spare layers,snacks and swets are strongly advisable

Fee €60 (excl. booking fee) includes transportation to the start location,tea/coffee at approx midway point,hot food at the finish and a commemorative Cuilcagh Camino t-shirt 

The Cuilcagh Camino is being organised by members of cuilcagh ramblers and other local volunteers with proceeds of the event being donated to a local charity

Participants must have a good level of fitness and have previously hiked over a long distance comfortably.
