1.30pm Women’s Intermediate League Round 2

  • Arrive ready from 13.00, you can enter the circuit via the sand road gate.
  • Line up and start at 13.30
  • Finish at 14.20, all riders to exit the circuit, prizes will be posted later.

 

 

This criterium for W2 and W3 category women and Juniors, it will be run on our car free 2km oval track. The race will be over 40 mins plus 3 laps. Cycling Ireland Criterium rules apply.

 

The League is aimed at bridging the gap between our Introductory Racing Events and the National Road Series.

The Women’s Commission have identified Races that are suitable for riders new to Open Race Events.

The League will include a Leader’s Jersey and has an Overall Prize List.

The League Leader will wear the Women’s Commission’s Leaders Jersey. A Rider will be deducted one point per event for not wearing the leader’s jersey.

The inaugural Intermediate leagues were a major success for Women’s Cycling In Ireland in 2018 and 2019 (We would like to thank all the host clubs for helping to promote Women’s Racing).

Intermediate League Riders may benefit from ‘on the day race prizes’ from the host events , a Women’s Commission League Leaders Jersey presented to each individual League Leader , Overall Winners Medals , and a Women’s Commission prize fund.

In the event of two riders finishing with the same points total , the riders will be separated based on number of wins . If there is still a tie , riders will be separated on higher placings in most recent race

The Intermediate League will consist of the following races:

1) Saturday 1st August – Danny O’Shea Memorial 10m TT (Sorrento CC)

2) Sunday 16th August – Limerick Racecourse (Greenmount CA)

3) Saturday 19th September – Mick Lawless Memorial (St. Tiernan’s CC)

All 3 races to count towards the League.

Before Arrival:

  • Pre entry is essential and via eventmaster only. Do not turn up to sign on the day.
  • Riders must complete the pre attendance Covid 19 Questionaire before attending.
  • Arrive ready for your race no more than 30 min before the start. Use the car parks provided there is plenty of space for everyone.
  • We have limited each race to 90 riders to ensure each race does not exceed the current government guidelines on the number of people at an outdoor gathering (Phase 3).
  • Our COVID-19 Liaison Officer is Joe Cusack.
  • The 3 races do not overlap to reduce the number of people onsite.
  • The entry list will be used to activate the Cycling Ireland Contact Tracing Sign on/Booking System.
  • Bring your own equipment and bottles, do not share with anyone.

During:

  • Do not enter the circuit until the previous race has finished. Warm up elsewhere. A marshal will inform you when to do so. Be aware of the cough/sneeze etiquette
  • If you develop symptoms of COVID-19 during the event. Inform a marshal. Toilets are available at the parade ring.

End of Race:

  • Immediately following the end of the race, sanitise hands and leave the venue.
  • Do not organise an end of activity meal or other social activity.
  • Sanitise all equipment and surfaces that were used during the activity.
  • Results will be posted later and prizes & medals will be wired/posted.
