Event Description:

Women Only Event

Come and join us on a beautiful cycle with stunning views of the County Louth coast and through the scenic countryside of the "Wee County".

Explore the "Land of Legends" a little more, - a cycling sportive that will challenge and entertain riders of all levels.

Cuchulainn Cycling Club organised the first Women's Lap of Louth in 2019 which proved very popular with a large turnout of female cyclists from across the country. Unfortunately, it was unable to run in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 55km route takes cyclists through the village of Castlebellingham, and continuing on through the historic Viking village of Annagassan, then following the coast with more beautiful views of the Mourne mountains before turning inland through the farmlands of Togher to Dunleer, and along quiet country roads through Stabannon, heading back to Kilsaran village and returning to Dundalk.

Those seeking the extra challenge of the 85km will follow the coastal route from Annagassan to the scenic village of Termonfeckin continuing on into historic Drogheda along the Boyne estuary before entering the ancient Boyne Valley and turning into the village of Collon and the market town of Ardee before returning to Dundalk to complete the 85k course.

Starting / meeting up point is DKIT Sports, Inner Relief Road, Dundalk, Co Louth, A91 XDT8., where both routes will also finish.

Event starts at 10am.
