For our newest production Granagh Players are again delving into the work of Padraig McIntyre. After last year successful production of Padraig ‘Send Them
Home Sweating’ and continuing the theme of rural nights out, we moved from the dance halls of the late sixties two years ago, to the festival marquees of the seventies last year, and now we’re in a local pub of the post crash twenty tens with ‘The Holy Show’.
It’s a sensitively written tale from MacIntyre of a local rural community with intertwining stories of a failing marriage, a crumbling local school, and a group of Girlfriends having a night out touched by their mortality. Recent Volunteer Ireland Awards winner in the Arts and Culture category, Jimmy Sheehy, has put his own Successful directorial touch on the production.
In Jimmy’s words,“It’s the story of a wealthy publican with a roving eye who has engaged a crack team of local builders, I mean a cracked team of local builders, having to contend with a drink fueled group of department store women looking for a good time on the opening night of The Granagh Inn which is hosting a talent contest to celebrate its new renovations.”
Please be advised that the performance begins at 8:00pm sharp.
Doors open: 7:00pm
Doors close: 7:45pm (late entry may not be possible)
