For The Love of It - Spring Event - Clonmel

For The Love of It is an exciting new fun packed Junior programme that celebrates the breadth of disciplines and experiences Paddlesport in Ireland has to offer. Piloted in 2022 in multiple locations throughout the country; Canoeing Ireland is thrilled to bring more opportunities in 2023 with a fun packed day of workshops in Clonmel to kick off the season.

The event, exclusively open to Juniors (18 and under) is organised in partnership with Tipperary Sports Partnership and supported by a long list of incredible Canoeing Ireland volunteers.

Open to paddlers Level 2 skills upwards and/or a minimum of 3 months paddlesport activity experience.

Each paddler can partake in 3 x 50 minutes workshops ending with a GRAND FINALE MASHUP BOATERCROSS

Workshop 7: Whitewater Safety in the Fishboxes

9:45 Assigned to groups for workshops

10:00 to 13:00 Take part in 3 Workshops

13:00 to 14:00 Lunch

14:00 to 15:30 GRAND FINALE MASHUP BOATERCROSS

16:00 End of event

ALL PARTICPANTS WILL RECEIVE A FREE FOR THE LOVE OF IT t-shirt

 You will be asked to rank your top 3 preferred workshops before the event starts. You will be guaranteed to partake in one of your favoured choices; the 2 others workshops will be allocated randomly.

Please bring your own bouyancy vest, helmet, paddle, wetsuit/drysuit, appropriate footwear and if you wish a boat you're comfortable being in on moving water.

Freestyle, Polo, Open Canoe, River Runners and Slalom boats + SUP boards + paddles will be available on the day.

However if you prefer to do the workshops in a boat you are comfortable in and want to bring in, please do.

For the GRAND FINALE MASHUP BOATERCROSS the various boats used during the workshops will be available.

Please note this will be a fun day with a lot of time spent on and in the water! Please bring nutritional food/drink to get you through the day and clothing to keep you warm between the sessions.
