Yael Ramos fundraising for KCC
Why I Run Running has given me so much more than fitness. It’s given me a community that shows up for each other, in every way that matters. Whether it’s early morning workouts, late night pace runs, or cheering each other through race day, the people I’ve met through running have become some of my closest friends. There’s something special about pushing through mile 18 with someone beside you, or celebrating a friend’s PR like it’s your own. Track & Feels has been my people, my support system, and honestly, my why. This community has taught me that the hardest things in life become manageable, even joyful, when you’re not doing them alone. That’s why running the Chicago Marathon for Kenya Children Centres feels right. I want to honor the support that’s carried me through ultras, relays, and everything in between by helping create that same sense of community and care for kids who deserve it. Every mile I train is a reminder of how lucky I am to have found my people, and every dollar raised is a way to extend that care beyond my running circle.
