Una Daly fundraising for Pieta in Cork City Marathon 2025

On January 3rd 2025, I lost my Uncle Will to suicide. In June, I will be running the Cork Half Marathon in his memory and raising funds for Pieta House. Will lived life to the fullest. He was an avid horse rider and golfer. He loved a swim, be it in Seapoint on Christmas morning or in Roundstone where we spent our summers together as a family. He loved sharing a pint and a laugh. Above all, Will was a family man. Our lives will never be the same but we will always cherish these memories. Any donation to Pieta House would be much appreciated. More importantly, please take time this week to reach out to a friend or family member for a chat ❤️

About Pieta

Pieta' vision is a world where suicide, self-harm and stigma have been replaced by hope, self-care and acceptance. By supporting us you will allow us to strive to make this a reality. Without your support we would not have been able to give hope to over 60,000 people since we first opened our doors in 2006. In 2020 Pieta delivered over 52,000 hours of intervention and bereavement counselling. We managed over 70,000 crisis support calls. All of our services are provided free of charge. This is only possible because of you.

About Cork City Marathon 2025

Organised by Cork City Council, the marathon has three distances: the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K race. The routes weave through Cork City’s scenic and vibrant streets and suburbs, past iconic landmarks and along the bustling quays. The incredible support from Corkonians lining the streets, paired with the camaraderie among participants, guarantees a memorable day for all.

The Cork City Marathon is open to all, from elite athletes chasing records to first-time runners tackling personal goals. It's more than a race—it’s about community, resilience, and making a difference.

Building on the €200,000 raised for 58 charity partners in 2024, we aim to double this target in the coming years. With our new tagline ‘Your Race, Their Hope.’ We encourage participants to run for causes close to their hearts, making every stride on June 1 count towards vital, life-changing work.

As a full member of AIMs the Cork marathon is IAAF certified.
