SEUPB Relay Team fundraising for Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke
The Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) is delighted to have five relay teams competing in this year’s Phoenix Energy Belfast City Marathon. We are raising much-needed funds to support the lifechanging and lifesaving work of Northern Ireland Chest, Heart and Stroke (NICHS), in memory of our dear friend and colleague, Paul Beattie. We were devastated when Paul, our director of Managing Authority in SEUPB, passed away suddenly last September, and his absence remains keenly felt by his partner, wider family, workmates, and many friends. Paul’s calm nature, kindness, approachability, and ever-present mischievous glint made him someone we could all turn to for guidance and a hearty laugh. Outside of work, Paul was passionate about music, photography, wildlife, cycling and spending time around his beloved north coast. We are proud to be undertaking the marathon relay in his memory. Please donate whatever you can to support the vital work of NICHS. Established in 1946, NICHS works with people of all ages across the country, delivering vital care and prevention services, supporting groundbreaking research and campaigning for change. Today, as many as 470,000 people in Northern Ireland are living with a chest, heart or stroke condition and NICHS are committed to supporting them. With almost 90% of the charity’s income coming exclusively from public donations, NICHS needs your help to continue to help thousands of local people and their families rebuild their lives. Thank you for your support and please give us a cheer and a wave if you see us on the day!
