Sinead McGivern fundraising for Evora Hospice Care (formerly Southern Area Hospice) in Phoenix Energy Belfast City Marathon 2026

As we mark the 20th anniversary of our sister Leonas passing, we wanted to do something meaningful in her memory and for a cause that not only helped us through one of the most difficult times in our lives but also supports so many other families who may suffer with similar experiences. In her honour, we have entered two teams into the Belfast City Marathon Relay, with family & friends ….. Sinead, Marie, Lee, Iona, Danielle, Gemma, Roisin, Fionnuala, Moya & Zara We are proud to be doing this in aid of Evora Hospice, where all proceeds will go directly to supporting the incredible care and compassion they provide to patients and their families. We would be so grateful for any donation, big or small, to support this very worthy cause. Every contribution will make a huge difference. Thank you so much for your support ❣️

Southern Area Hospice Services care for patients and their families living primarily in the Southern Trust area, offering specialist palliative and end of life care. The main aim of the hospice is to help patients who have received a palliative diagnosis live well with their condition. We strive to support patients to achieve the best possible quality of life from first receiving a palliative diagnosis, until the end of life, whenever that may be. We also offer ongoing support to patients’ families and carers. All our services are provided free of charge and we rely heavily on voluntary donations. This year Southern Area Hospice Services (we) need to raise £3.6 million to enable us to continue to provide vital specialist palliative care services. This is approximately 68% of our total required income, the remainder being funded through government support. We need to raise these funds to enable us to continue to provide care and support to our patients and their families.
