2025 was a sad year. Within one short summer, I lost one of my closest friends and the daughter of my best man to suicide. Two beautiful souls. This is a reality that had never come so close to home, and to be honest, I am still in shock. While I cannot change the past, I am determined to do something that might change the future for someone else. This May, I am joining 100 others to cycle 800km from the North to the South of Portugal. This journey, "Cycle Against Suicide," aims to raise over €250,000 for a charity providing vital support to those battling depression. As someone who has only cycled recreationally for a year or two, 800km over mountains in just five days will be an immense challenge. However, cycling gives me the space and time to think. As I pedal, I will be remembering the good times shared with my friend, and thinking about how to support my best man as he faces the unimaginable.
