My husband Jack and I are taking part in this 5km run on Sunday 1st March to raise vital funds and awareness for Brain Tumour Ireland, a cause that is deeply personal to our family. On Christmas Day 2023, our brother-in-law’s life, and all of ours, changed forever when he was diagnosed with a brain tumour and rushed into emergency surgery that night. What should have been a day of celebration became a day of fear, uncertainty, and unimaginable shock. Brain tumours are devastating. They can strike anyone at anytime without warning, and their impact reaches far beyond the patient, affecting families significantly both mentally, physically and emotionally. Recovery is often long and life-altering, and for many there is still no cure. By running this 5km, we hope to honour our brother-in-law’s strength and resilience, and to help fund critical research, support services, and advocacy through Brain Tumour Ireland. Every donation, no matter how small, helps bring us closer to better treatments, and ultimately, a cure. Thank you for supporting this cause and for standing with families like ours. πŸ’™πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

About Brain Tumour Ireland

Brain Tumour Ireland was founded in 2012 by a small group of people caring for a family member who was sadly lost to a Brain Tumour. As a national organisation our aim is to continue to fight the battle against the disease in her honour. Through Brain Tumour Ireland (The Ronnie Fehily Foundation) we hope to create a place where people can come for information, guidance and comfort. A place to learn what to expect and a community to provide support. Iin addition to supporting the brain tumour community we provide funding for medical research. As a fully registered member of the Charities Regulator, Brain Tumour Ireland is compliant with all rules and regulations concerning fundraising, both online and traditional.
